Compared to the problems they were originally discussing, this is a tremendous improvement. She's one day short of 19 weeks today (they said 18 wks 5 days yesterday). So she still has a ways to go. The ultrasound is three weeks from now that will probably tell us for sure whether the baby isn't progressing as he ought. His measurements are what they expected from a 17 week old baby. But at the 12 week ultrasound he was right on schedule. So he was almost two weeks behind the size they were expecting him to grow in that six week time span. So basically it's cause for genuine concern, but not quite confirmed yet. A third ultrasound will give them a much better idea to graph out how things are going. I was 6 lbs 11 oz my mom said today. My wife was smaller, more like 6 lbs 3 oz. Her brother and sister were also smaller, my brother was bigger than I was. But the doctor said that the fact that we were both smaller than normal is a good thing because he was expecting people our size (my wife is above avg height for a woman). Thank you very much for the prayer. Yours In Christ, Ron

The adventures of pregnancy continue. Yesterday my wife began bleeding quite a bit. They had been concerned that the placenta was too low and had threatened bed rest. yesterday it tore from the wall and she began bleeding quite a bit. I'm writing this from the hospital now. She'll be here another day and then bedrest for two weeks. They'll evaluate after that. She's at 20 weeks so our son isn't quite ready to join us out here. We could use prayer that this is only a one time thing and not an evolving situation. In a few more weeks he'd be able to make it as a premature baby, but not yet. I'm hoping that this goes as it did with my cousin who had the same thing happen. Her daughter came three weeks early, but she was on bedrest for a few months which is very difficult. Yours in Christ, Ron

Ron,
I feel that just about anything I say right now would sound like a cliche, so I'll just say that the three of you are in my prayers.
Yours in Christ,
Melinda

Thank you very much Melinda. We appreciate it. She's doing okay physically, but even the first day of spending in bed all day has been getting to her. I'm confident the Lord will extend the grace she needs in this time of trial just as He did during the initial ordeal. The Lord is good. Yours In Christ, Ron

Ron, continuing to pray for you and your wife, and the baby of course. I will put you all on the prayer list at my church. The saints will be lifting you up. May the Lord bless and keep you all until we speak.

Thank you very much Eric for the prayer. We went to the doctor's today and they are encouraged at the blood flow through the placenta right now. My wife needs to keep off her feet as much as possible to prevent any further tearing, and in the long term they want her to stay pretty inactive. This increases the boold flow to the baby the doctor said, which is necessary because of the issue with the placenta's grip on the wall not being optimal (which has slowed our son's growth). So we are reasonably encouraged after the visit. My wife needs the most prayer because bed rest is difficult...
Yours In Christ, Ron

Well, this news certainly sounds encouraging, though I know the bed-rest has to be difficult for your wife.
Thanks for the update and may God bless all three of you,
Melinda

My dear briother Ron, God was gracious to return the health of my dog...such a small thing to others but a great mercy to me. I shall pray as fervently that the Great Physician attend to your wife. As complex as all of these redundant "evolved" systems are, perhaps the doctor needs a little assistance (and a gentle reminder) from the Creator and Lord of all life. I call upon our heavenly Abba, Father, who delights in giving His children every good thing, asking that out of His great love and mercy to us He would oversee the pregnancy of your wife, and magnify His name among those who do not believe by confounding the expectaions of the doctors by giving strength to your unborn child, knitting your son together perfectly in the womb of your beloved wife, and giving her peace as she waits on the Lord. I ask our Father this, trusting only in the finished work of Jesus Christ, His Son, our Lord, Savior, and High Priest, that is Jesus' death and resurrection to obtain our forgiveness for sins, and our salvation, through whom we are encouraged to come boldly before His throne of grace for help in our times of need. I rely in faith in the intercession of the Holy Spirit, who knows us and our needs better than we ourselves do, and intercedes for us with groanings to deep to be uttered. And I glorify the all Holy Triune God, who has spoken to us and whose word may be trusted for all generations. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit...Amen. God bless you, your wife, and your unborn son, Matthew (soulfyre)
