John Jefferson Davis gave the following definition in his book "The Victory of Christ's Church: An Introduction to Postmillennialism" which is general enough to describe the various Postmillennial viewpoints seen in church history: 1) Through the preaching of the gospel and dramatic outpourings of the Holy Spirit, Christian missions and evangelism will attain remarkable success, and the church will enjoy an unprecedented period of numerical expansion and spiritual vitality. 2) This period of spiritual prosperity, the millennium, understood as a long period of time, is to be characterized by conditions of increasing peace and economic well-being in the world as a result of the growing influence of Christian truth. 3) The Millennium will also be characterized by the conversion of large numbers of ethnic Jews to the Christian faith (Rom. 11:25-26). 4) At the end of the Millennial period there will be a brief period of apostasy and sharp conflict between Christian and evil forces (Rev 20:7-10). 5) Finally and simultaneously there will occur the visible return of Christ, the resurrection of the righteous and the wicked, the final judgment, and the revelation of the new heavens and the new earth. A decent introduction online is also available. It's an article called The Biblical Basis of Postmillennialism. Yours In Christ, Ron

Seems everyone's gotten to have him as an instructor except me! Can I come out and play too?

Seems everyone's gotten to have him as an instructor except me! Can I come out and play too? You bet! Given your rigorous reading and study, I only wish I had been as disciplined in seminary. incidentally, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary's Ockenga Institute allows you to purchase coursework (for substantially less than the cost-per-hour of class credit) even if you are not seeking a degree. Jack Davis has an excellent class on theology that I think you would greatly enjoy! Iin Jesus' Name, and to the Glory of God, Matthew (soulfyre)
