I'm reading a book by Brian E. Daley called "The Hope of the Early Church: A Handbook of Patristic Eschatology". I went looking for other works of his so I could understand any traditions he might have (standard practice of mine before reading new authors) and ran into this excellent article he wrote called "Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament". www.americamagazine.org/gettext.cfm?articleTypeID=1&textID=2923&issueID=430Modern day Protestants are usually caught off guard a bit by this practice. The article explains that it fell out of practice quite a bit after Vatican II but is evidently becoming more popular again according to the author. I am wondering whether the Internet has anything to do with this? Catholics are engaging Protestants online in a way that hasn't happened in a long, long time. It's probably forcing many to learn the teaching of the RCC better in order to deal with what they're seeing and hearing online. In any case, whatever the cause is for the increasing popularity, hopefully reading this article helps understand it a little better. The Council of Trent addressed this practice and Protestant disagreement in Canon VI in the section "ON THE MOST HOLY SACRAMENT OF THE EUCHARIST". In Christ,, Ron
