While I consider Sanders a heretic and don't believe he should teach at any Christian institution, this sounds hypocritical. All open theists should go, not just him. Heresy is heresy and it shouldn't matter whether one is "visible" in the heresy or not. If they have open theists to teach, then there's no discernable reason why they shouldn't let him teach IMO.

I tend to agree with you, Ron. I find it somewhat oxymoronic to refer to Huntington College in Indiana as an evangelical school while at the same time admitting that it was not John Sanders acceptance of "open theology" (open theism?) that created a problem, but merely his notoriety. All the professors who hold to "open theism" as their theological framework would certainly be considered advocates of that position if they taught and defended it. I would be hard pressed to view "open theism" as anything but the most rank heresy. Why would an "evangelical" school, or ANY school that called itself by the name of Christ, maintain heretical professors on their faculty? I tend to consider the move of the president as hypocritical, rather than heroic. The appropriate action would be to remove all who support "open theism". In Christ, Matthew (soulfyre)
