Abusing the Fathers, by William J. Tighe is an excellent article on the dithering among "evangelical" leaders within the Anglican Communion when it comes to combatting the revisionist heresies (seems more like apostasies to me) rife within the Church. That they should attempt to manipulate conclusions of the Council of Nicea to protect heretical bishops in their dioceses seems to be to display the inability to confront error that has indeed resulted in the current dismal state of the Anglican Communion worldwide. In an effort to "avoid" schism, they fail to acknowledge the schism that exists. They proudly parade their "unity" about like the emperor's new clothes, while others see their obvious nakedness. Far better to acknowledge the existing schism caused by heretics within their hierarchy, and take drastic steps, through excommunication and replacemenet, to solve the problem rather than do the equivalent of publishing the occasional peremptory op-ed piece decrying the problem, with no intention to solve it. In Christ, Matthew (soulfyre)
