The level of humor prevalent in the world today, if we are to believe Hollywood, Madison Avenue, and much of television, is vulgar, scatological, and puerile. The positive influence of someone like Bill Cosby, who has never, to my knowledge, descended to "blue" humor to get a laugh, sometimes gets lost in the din of depravity. Therefore, I have decided to start this thread to begin listing some web references of humorous sites that can be frequented freely by Christians without family-friendly filters. This is not to say that all sites should "toe the line" with Christian theology. There is, after all, still good non-religious humor. I begin with my favorites:
Remember, the Christian life is not something to be endured, but enjoyed! Even Jesus had a sense of humor. And if you've ever seen a duck-billed platypus, you KNOW that God must have a sense of humor.
God bless and keep you all,

- Darwin Awards - Whatever you believe about evolution, these may come to convince you that natural selection is alive and well among the human species! Sometimes I don't know whether to laugh or cry at the incidents I find here.
- Despair, Inc. - Alright, I admit this site is somewhat "dark" and "cynical". But my experience with the tendency of businesses to avoid investing money and time addressing the real human concerns of their employees, and instead purchase annoying "positive thinking" posters ostensibly to foster a positive working atmosphere, gives this site special meaning to me. I have yet to buy a poster, calendar, or notepad myself. But if the Lord ever allows me some "mad money" again, watch out!
- The Door Magazine - Iconoclasts to the end, these writers often have an edge to their humor, causing us to cast a baleful eye on the more prominent foibles of contemporary "Christianity". Sometimes I agree with them. Other times I think they may go too far. But their observations never fail to engage and confront us. Incidentally, part of what solidified in their mind that they were given the gift of exhortational satire, as it were, was their initial error in spelling "Wittenberg." The original title of their magazine was "The Wittenburg Door". Realizing their error when it was first published, they took it as a sign from God that they were called to caustic commentary. Well...maybe they stretched it a little...
