My book of the month for November is one you may have read. If you haven't, put it on your list. Being Human: The Nature of Spiritual Experience, by Ranald Macaulay and Jerram Barrs, deals with what we often vaguely refer to as the “spiritual†life in a very concrete manner. They emphasize that to be truly spiritual is not to deny our humanity, but to affirm it at its very essence, as a being created in the image of God. Rather than escaping our humanity, Christianity is what makes us truly human. Let me know what you think! God bless you and good reading... Matthew

i disagree with a sinful nature of mankind and the whole hearted approach to succumb to it. i do not disagree however that a conflict that can be narrowed down to two choices is not present within the inward self. i submit that if the main points to God's accomplishment can reside in us then who truly overcomes in us? and then again that faith would then be the size of a mountain rather than a mustard seed.
reference used-- genesis (transition of trust) Gal 1:10 For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.
