I am a graphic designer/web designer. I have done logos and websites. For example, I designed this site: www.citymatrix.netAnyway, I have always been interested in avant-garde media, be it design, music, or photography. I think industrial music and art are often closely related to the avant-garde movement. Strangely, one of the reasons I am attracted to the avant-garde is that there is an almost purity in it. Mankind is sinful, so therefore whatever he creates is sinful in some way or another, right? Well, when I play avant-garde piano or design avant-garde websites, I try to escape from all emotion and all feeling and try to make something totally mechanical and cold. But I also have a great love for classical media. I.E. I enjoy Michelangelo, Debussy, Monet, Mozart; paintings and music from centuries ago when there was not as much abstraction. Of course when I say I like Avant-Garde, I mean I like the "clean" Avant-Garde, not the dead naked bodies hanging from a tree or a Jesus figure in a cup of urine. That to me is totally and utterly repulsive. Just a few thoughts. Feel free to disagree, or give me some other perspectives. Becuse even I am not totally sure of my opinion Jedi

When I'm doing thumbnails for a project I ususally try to cover the conservative, playful, and avant garde approaches. It's nice to come up with ideas that are just off the wall, but so far I haven't taken many of those approaches to production. So long as it's tasteful, avant garde can be a great for expanding your artistic repertoire. (adds variety to your portfolio)

Here is a painting I did in January while waiting for a concert to start: Finished! Here is a picture of me working on it: Painting(I am the one on the bottom with the curly hair.) The theme of the paintings are being set free from things that blind us, and enslave us. This one was actually about being replenished with God's undying love. The plant that is taking root on the man represents new life growing where the rain falls, as does all of the other plant life. I encourage you all to look around at the other paintings, they had has really nicely done boards. These are photos taken during a yearly outreach here in Florida called the Harvest Gathering. The focus is to reach those who are rejected by all people: homosexuals, pagans, witches, runaways, and the homeless, etc. It is a great time of fellowship and of ministry. Love!, Alejandro
